It has been revealed that the Canadian Prime Minister has divorced. Notably, Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire were married for 18 years.
Their love story itself deserves a separate article, as it seemed that nothing could separate one of the most charming political couples since the Kennedys.
But unfortunately, this fairy tale with the prince and princess has come to an end, as reported by Ukr.Media.
Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire knew each other since their school years. However, at that time, the politician's wife was in the same class as his younger brother Michel.
Nevertheless, the children's parents had no objections to their interaction. As a result, the first kiss of the future couple took place in one of the rooms of the Trudeau family home.
Grégoire was visiting at the time, and the two decided to play hide and seek. Unfortunately, their young love had to take a backseat soon.
Sophie decided to pursue journalism, and Justin continued his father's legacy by entering politics. It seemed that their paths would never cross again. However, fate had other plans.
Indeed, already in 2003, a charity event took place. Trudeau was an important guest at the time. Grégoire, on the other hand, attended due to her journalistic duties.
"We laughed, joked, and felt a strong chemistry. And then I realized that she was the girl I needed to take seriously," Canada's Prime Minister confessed years later.
Soon, their first meeting took place. By the way, it happened at a karaoke. It was thanks to Elton John's repertoire that Justin enchanted the charming blonde.
"I call him my prince. Because he treats me like a real princess," Sophie shared the secrets of their happiness. But as it became known, the Canadian Prime Minister has divorced, and this fairy tale has come to an end.
In his social media blog, the 51-year-old Canadian confessed that he and Sophie had had numerous serious conversations. And finally, they made the decision, no matter how difficult it was, to divorce. Moreover, the couple even signed a legal agreement for separate living.
"As always, we remain a close-knit family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build," Canada's Prime Minister announced in his blog.
Notably, their three children will stay with their father. Additionally, importantly, despite the divorce, the former husband and wife will continue to appear together at public events.
