Fishing on Lake Champlain on the border of New York and Vermont brought an unexpected catch.

According to the Knotty Boys Fishing team, one of the participants, Debbie Geddes, managed to catch a trout with two mouths.

Photographs posted on Facebook clearly show the fish with two mouths.

The fishermen could not find a logical explanation for this phenomenon.

Adam Facto, a member of the Knotty Boys Fishing team, emphasized that the main versions of the appearance of such an unusual fish are either trauma or a genetic defect.

"I'm amazed at the amount of attention it's getting," says Debbie.

"The reaction and public versions are at least curious. Personally, I think it's the result of a previous injury, probably from another fisherman."

However, some suggest that the mutation may have occurred due to wastewater being discharged into the lake from Canada.
