Katie Lolas from Sydney had digestion problems. Since then, the 35-year-old high school teacher has been carefully cooking breakfast, lunch, and snacks for four days.
"Wash your fruit in a large bowl using vinegar and water in a 1:4 ratio," Katie posted on Instagram. "Thoroughly dry, chop as needed, and then immediately put in the fridge."

Washing fruits and vegetables in water and vinegar is also a good way to remove potential bacteria.
HOW TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF AN AVOCADO
Do you have an avocado, but only want to use half or a quarter? Katie said you should "lightly spray" any visible avocado flesh with extra virgin olive oil and chill it in a container.
"I found this prolongs its taste and aesthetics for at least a few more days," Katie said.
For people who like to make salads, Katie said the best thing to do is to put your salad in an airtight container immediately.
"Don't add oil or salt to the salad until you're ready to eat it," she said. "I also store my protein and fresh produce in separate, smaller containers until I'm ready to serve them."
To extend the shelf life of vegetables, they should be stored in an airtight container, ideally with a few tablespoons of water, which, according to Katie, makes them "hydrated and crispy."
"Shake the container every few days to keep the vegetables fresh," Katie said.
