Of course, he couldn't leave the kitten behind.

This little girl, nicknamed Noel, was found on the street. Volunteers were simply speechless: a two-week-old girl, how could she be abandoned?

Who knows what would have happened if a passerby hadn't tucked her under their own coat?

But it's not enough to just keep the kitten warm, you have to feed it. A desperate attempt: such a small kitten still can't eat. It wanted milk.

She was taken to a shelter, of course. But what were the shelter workers supposed to do?

They didn't have a suitable nursing cat, and there's no way to feed her every few hours. People are already overwhelmed.

Nevertheless, Noel was given a chance. They picked her up in the snowdrift. And now she acted the same: persistently meowing, demanding food, affection, warmth. She really wanted to survive.

She liked warm human hands the most.

The shelter workers made a heating pad and created it using a plastic bottle wrapped in a blanket.

They found a pacifier. They just needed to find a friend. Fortunately, the old clever tomcat Harrow had been living in the shelter for a long time.

This elderly veteran of street battles came to the volunteers on his own and settled in the shelter as if he had lived there his whole life. When he started caring for all the kittens, he amazed the staff. He was ready to lick them, warm them, and give them a swat when needed.

The tomcat became a true employee of the shelter, without his help, the volunteers wouldn't have managed.

It was he who took care of Noel. And she, as if sensing parental affection, calmed down. The little cat and her boss instantly became friends, and no one was lonely.

Harrow truly loves his adopted daughter!

He only sleeps in his embrace.

She forgot when she last cried.

And the old tomcat felt young and loved.
