Sometimes we don't even realize that the cause of our psychological problems is right next to us.
At first glance, nothing serious seems to be happening, but a conversation with a friend or relative seems to drain you of energy.
If this situation sounds familiar, chances are you are dealing with an energy vampire who has settled comfortably in your surroundings.
And if you can't figure out who among your acquaintances is draining you, we'll give you a few hints.
The person is completely selfish
Usually, narcissists and egotists are considered energy vampires, people who have no consideration or desire for others. You can probably recall at least one such person in your surroundings.
Typically, these individuals engage with others solely for their own gain. They won't ask about the other person themselves. After interacting with a pure egotist, you always feel drained. Don't allow such a person to take control of your state.
The person thrives on intrigue
Of course, from time to time, you can meet and discuss the latest news about the lives of acquaintances.
However, if such conversations make up the majority of your interaction with someone who enjoys meddling in other people's problems, beware — an energy vampire is next to you.
The worst-case scenario is when such a person is part of your work environment, where gossip can disrupt the entire department's work. Try to minimize your communication with such an individual if you don't want additional psychological problems.
The person enjoys provoking others
Another problematic type that falls under the category of energy vampires. Unlike the egotist and gossip, this person seeks intense emotions and tries to provoke anger in others by any means necessary.
Such a vampire derives the most pleasure from their efforts when conflicts ignite, even if they themselves are not involved.
Even mere observation brings them incredibly pleasant sensations. And it doesn't matter that the participants in the conflict suffer from a wave of negativity. Don't fall for the provocateur's tricks, and cut them off from yourself as soon as possible.
