A successful urban project implemented by Unemori Architects in Tokyo serves as an example.
Finding available land in the Japanese capital to build a new home is incredibly challenging.

Like any old city, Tokyo has several "tiny" vacant lots. The empty spaces between buildings may seem too small and unsuitable for construction.
However, that's not actually the case. By using unconventional materials and employing original architectural solutions, it is quite possible to construct residential buildings on these small plots, adding diversity to the overall appearance of the city streets.
So, what does this house look like? This small yet spacious house consists of several "boxes" covered in corrugated steel sheets. The building occupies only 26 square meters.
A distinctive feature of the building is the offset upper floor, creating a small terrace where one can relax in the evenings.
The walls of the building are made of cement covered with industrial corrugated galvanized steel.
The house has many large windows, and even the doors are transparent, allowing for maximum utilization of sunlight and minimizing the need for electricity.
What about the interior of the building? Inside, the house is truly comfortable and beautiful.
The ceiling heights range from 1.9 to 4.7 meters, and a wooden frame serves as a decorative element of the interior.
The difference in height allows for zoning of the space. The total living area of both floors of this unusual house is 51 square meters.
The ground floor houses the bedroom, bathroom, and storage room, while the kitchen and dining area are on the second floor.
The bedroom is designed in a way that allows it to be easily divided into several small rooms.
The space is intended for individuals who spend most of their time outside the house and don't have a lot of belongings.
The building serves as a modern urban residence and will be rented out as an ordinary apartment.
